Megan A. Kimbrell
Megan began her career as a criminal defense attorney with a nationally recognized criminal law firm. She honed her skills as an avid writer and researcher in this position as well as developed her presence in the courtroom. Sheila started her career in much the same way. They both indicate that criminal law taught them the importance of “leaving no stone unturned” when it came to client representation because so much was at stake in the client’s life.
What makes a good attorney a great attorney is the on-going quest for knowledge. Megan continued her quest for knowledge and a deeper understanding of counseling clients through adversity by earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University. While earning this degree she had face-to-face experiences with the havoc that divorce can cause for the children of divorce by working with Communities In Schools and being on-site at an alternative high school. Further, she conducted individual and family therapy at the Wichita Child Guidance Center. Megan sees the merging of her knowledge of law, counseling and her awareness of a client’s emotional needs as the perfect fit to accommodate the needs of individuals who must seek divorce, file for child custody or encounter other family disputes at Floodman Family Law.
Megan is married and her husband works as an attorney for Sumner County.
Kelly Orloske
Kelly has been a legal assistant with Sheila for over 20 years. She started shortly after she earned her associate degree in para-legal studies from Wichita State University. Working side by side with Sheila, she has experienced divorce from every level – from the dissolution of a short term marriage with minimal assets to a long term marriage with the division of a family owned multi-million dollar business and every type of case in between. She has been a key component in helping Sheila build a law practice whose services are sought by individuals throughout Kansas.
Kelly has the professional education, the knowledge, the practical skills and the strong work ethic to manage the details of each divorce, paternity and child custody case in order that they move through the court system with the precision needed to meet the expectations of each client. Kelly is always available to clients. In addition, she is able to connect with Sheila quickly when an emergency arises as they often do in divorce and child custody litigation and facilitate providing immediate attention to a matter. Kelly is an invaluable team member of The Floodman Family Law.
Kelly is a lifetime resident of Wichita. Her husband is a captain on the Wichita Fire Department. They have two daughters, one of which played on a championship state basketball team and is currently attending college on a basketball scholarship.
