Kaitlin also has extensive experience practicing Child-in-Need-of-Care (CINC) law, which is designed to protect children who may be victims of various types of abuse or neglect. Parents, grandparents, and other close family members going through a CINC case often find themselves in a situation that is intimidating, complicated, and overwhelming. Having an attorney who is skilled in this area of law is crucial for achieving a successful outcome. Kaitlin’s background as a former CINC prosecutor enables her to provide clients with comprehensive support throughout the CINC process. This includes working with DCF, consulting with social workers and other professionals, litigating effectively in the courtroom, and assisting clients in navigating the stages of the case. In addition, she represents grandparents and other individuals seeking interested party status in CINC cases, ensuring that their voices are heard in these important proceedings.
Kaitlin’s legal expertise extends beyond litigation and includes criminal, domestic, and CINC appeals. An appeal is a complex legal proceeding where an attorney represents a party wishing to have a decision reviewed by a higher court. Kaitlin has extensive experience in determining not only the issues to pursue on appeal, but also whether to even file an appeal in the first place. Time is of the essence in filing your appeal, so it is crucial to consult with an appellate lawyer as soon as possible to determine whether there was a mistake or unfair application of the law in your case.
